Whether you’re looking for a classic day at the seaside, a walk through medieval history, or a peaceful escape into cliffside gardens, Scarborough is the "Original Seaside Resort." With its two sweeping sandy bays separated by a towering headland, this North Yorkshire gem has been welcoming visitors for over 400 years.

See the sea-side sights of Scarborough -

  • A Tale of Two Bays: Explore the contrasting personalities of Scarborough’s coastline. The South Bay is the heart of the traditional seaside experience with its bustling harbor, amusement arcades, and fresh seafood stalls. In contrast, the North Bay offers a more relaxed atmosphere, featuring colorful beach huts and the award-winning Peasholm Park.

  • Scarborough Castle: Stand atop the dramatic cliffs and explore the ruins of this 12th-century royal fortress. The castle headland offers the best panoramic views in the county, where you can look out across the North Sea and see both halves of the town stretching out below you.

  • Peasholm Park: Voted one of the best parks in the UK, this themed municipal park is a must-visit. You can stroll through the wooded glen, admire the rare trees, or rent a swan-themed pedalo to explore the central lake and its beautiful waterfall.

  • The South Cliff Gardens: Take a ride on one of the Victorian Cliff Lifts to reach the stunning Italian Gardens. These beautifully landscaped terraces offer a tranquil escape from the beach and are perfect for a scenic walk toward the historic Spa building.

  • Seaside Traditions: No trip to Scarborough is complete without a visit to the Harbour, where you can watch the fishing boats come in. Treat yourself to world-class fish and chips, or try a "Lemon Top" ice cream.
