‘Race’ and Socially Engaged Research: Open and Inclusive Conference for Postgraduate and Early Career Researchers

This 2 day conference follows the success of last year’s conference,  the event will take place on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 June 2025.
Venue: University of York

Detailed Description

This postgraduate-led interdisciplinary conference aims to provide an interactive and supportive space for postgraduate and early career social science researchers to present their research and network with peers across the country.

The conference theme this year is 'Connected Struggles and Solidarity'. The conference will have themed panels of PGR and ECR presentations, a poster and art exhibition, workshops, one roundtable session and an evening reception with keynote speaker. More information about our guest speakers can be found on our website. The event is fully catered and we aim to be as accessible as possible, including having dedicated break out spaces for delegates to take time away from the conference whenever needed.

The evening reception is entitled ‘Collective Reflections: Solidarity and Building Communities of Resistance in Hostile Environments’, with a keynote panel made up of 4 guest speakers who bridge research and activism, organising and grassroot perspectives - this will take place following the first conference day, Wednesday 25th June 6:30-8:30pm at the Law and Management Building, University of York. Drinks and canapés available for all.
