Whitby is the "Jewel of the Yorkshire Coast", famous for its dramatic clifftops, winding cobbled streets, and hauntingly beautiful Abbey, this ancient seaport offers a unique blend of maritime heritage and Gothic mystery.

- A Literary Legend: Walk in the footsteps of Bram Stoker and see the ruins that inspired Dracula. Every year, the town transforms for the world-famous Whitby Goth Weekend, celebrating its dark and atmospheric charm.
- Maritime History: Explore the legacy of Captain James Cook, who learned his trade in Whitby's harbour before setting sail for the Pacific. Don’t forget to snap a photo under the iconic Whalebone Arch on the West Cliff.

What's included in your ticket -
This ticket covers round-trip coach travel between the University and Whitby. The coach will depart from the bus stop at York SU Student Centre, Newton Way at 08:00 and is scheduled to return to campus by 17:00. A staff member will be on-site to check your details before boarding and will provide a reminder of the departure time for the return journey.
IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to arrive on time for both departures. The coach will leave promptly at the scheduled times and cannot wait for late arrivals. Should you miss the return coach, you will be responsible for arranging and funding your own transport back to York, and no refunds will be issued.
If you require a refund, please contact the International Communities Team at least 7 calendar days before the day of the trip to allow for the refund to be processed.
