Whitby is the "Jewel of the Yorkshire Coast", famous for its dramatic clifftops, winding cobbled streets, and hauntingly beautiful Abbey, this ancient seaport offers a unique blend of maritime heritage and Gothic mystery.

Discover the Magic of Whitby -

  • A Literary Legend: Walk in the footsteps of Bram Stoker and see the ruins that inspired Dracula. Every year, the town transforms for the world-famous Whitby Goth Weekend, celebrating its dark and atmospheric charm.

  • Maritime History: Explore the legacy of Captain James Cook, who learned his trade in Whitby's harbour before setting sail for the Pacific. Don’t forget to snap a photo under the iconic Whalebone Arch on the West Cliff.

  • The 199 Steps: Challenge yourself to the climb from the Old Town to St. Mary’s Church. Your reward? Breathtaking panoramic views of the red-roofed houses and the North Sea.

  • World-Class Treats: No visit is complete without tasting the nation's best fish and chips.

  • Quirky Shopping: Meander through narrow alleys to find independent boutiques selling the famous Whitby Jet—a rare black gemstone formed over 180 million years ago and made fashionable by Queen Victoria.
