A copy of an entry from a parish register or Bishops' Transcript for a baptism, marriage or burial.
A copy taken from microfilm of the full parish register entry for a baptism, marriage or burial.
The contents of parish registers vary over time. In the earliest registers there is no standardisation and the contents tend to be very brief. The first marriage registers were introduced in 1752, and baptism and burial registers followed in 1812. The modern formats still in use today were introduced in September 1837 with civil registration.
