What are numbers? Do they exist? These seem really easy questions to answer but are actually philosophically vexed. This course will explore the philosophical area around such questions. We will consider some prominent accounts of mathematical objects (e.g. numbers), including some accounts which say that, contrary to intuition, numbers don’t exist.
