TS Eliot’s Four Quartets are mysterious and difficult like his earlier work, The Waste Land, but, despite similarities, have a different emphasis, with, in particular, a stronger theological engagement. As the texts are too long for a complete reading during the three hours of the course, we will analyse extracts from each of the Quartets, but will aim to achieve an overview of the import of the work as a whole.
