A non-accredited history and heritage course

Course Code

Course Description

The word ‘chivalry’ evokes images of knights in armour, crusaders, and adventurers. It conjures up ideas of nobility, pageantry, and jousting. Developing between the Norman Conquest and the triumph of artillery, the ‘Age of Chivalry' expands for over four centuries of medieval Europe. This course will explore the secular and religious origins of chivalry, the rise of Tournaments and Jousts, the invention of heraldry, the developing of arms and armour, and the medieval ideas of nobility and war.
