Science at the Edge of Reality

A non-accredited philosophy/religion course

Course Code

CLL 24/25_NA_173
Course Description

A series of scientific revolutions in the twentieth century showed us that the reality of the physical universe is radically different from what we experience day-to-day. What does it mean for space to ‘curve’, as Einstein showed it does? In what sense can a cat in a box be dead and alive simultaneously? Why does time flow in one direction, rather than the other? This course will explore how philosophers understand reality in the age of quantum mechanics and relativity.
