Course Description

Margaret Beaufort, Countess of Richmond, played a vital role in the Wars of the Roses, securing support for her son Henry Tudor’s claim to the throne and eliminating his rivals. This day school will examine Margaret’s career, her strategic marriages, the rebellion she masterminded against Richard III, and how she manoeuvred her son into a position of power. Was Margaret responsible for the deaths of the Princes in the Tower? And how did Margaret support her son Henry VII after the Battle of Bosworth?
