Course Description

Discover the stories behind Henry VII’s two visits to York. In 1486 Henry VII was welcomed to York as the new Tudor king 'by righteous providence', even though the city had supported Richard III. Only a year later in 1487 Henry returned to execute those who had rebelled against him. This day school will explore the pageantry of Henry VII’s first progress, the 1487 rebellion and Henry’s second visit in 1487.
