Course Description

Join archaeologist and tour leader, Gillian Hovell, ‘The Muddy Archaeologist’ as she takes you down the Nile and through Ancient Egypt’s archaeology - the monuments, tombs, temples and art. Follow Egypt’s evolution of its remarkable culture over an astonishing 3,000 years. We will focus on Egypt’s earliest Predynastic Age and on into the pyramid-rich Old Kingdom. Understand Egypt’s religion and its menagerie of gods. Finally, we will move into the wealth of the New Kingdom and on to the Ptolemaic and Roman ages.
