Exploring Queer Poetry from South Asia

A non-accredited Literature course.

Course Code

CLL 22/23_NA_200
Course Description

What qualifies as a queer poem and who qualifies to write one? Through a close reading of a selection of poems from the 2020 anthology, The World That Belongs To Us: An Anthology of Queer Poetry from South Asia, we will answer some of these questions and maybe sometimes leave them unanswered, learning to accept the unknowability of things. The course will also include broader discussions on the multiplicity of desires and identities that the poems conjure, express, and encapsulate.
