Course Description

This course will discuss exactly what was known about the Nazi death camps as they were operational. We will look at incredibly courageous figures such as Jan Karski, who risked their lives to try to gather evidence of what was happening and bring it to the attention of the highest Allied authorities. Could more have been done? If so, what? Which options were considered and why did the Allies fail to prevent the most notorious massacre in human history?
