Course Description

Roman coins are a fascinating window into life almost 2000 years ago. A chance to hold an object that was once held by a Roman Briton, and a way to begin to understand how their world worked. Join Archaeologist Barry Crump to explore his research into the coinage of Roman Britain. We will explore what coins were used, how they were used, and what they meant. We will also look at how to identify, read, and date Roman coins - with hands-on-access to a reference collection of genuine Roman coins.
