A non-accredited history of art course

Course Description

This course will explore the roots of the ever-popular Impressionist painters who emerged in Paris in the 1870s. Not instantly popular, they struggled at first to find spaces and an audience to show their work. From these humble beginnings, this small group of painters produced some of the best-loved and most influential canvases in the history of art. We will follow their paths as they overcame frequently hostile reactions to their work to create a genuinely new form of art.
