Course Description

This is a course for anyone interested in visual poetry, whether you are a complete beginner or have written some poetry before. In this one-day workshop you will explore a range of visual poetry examples, encountering the best among contemporary visual poets and small arts presses as inspiration for your own work. In the morning, you will explore ways of writing with the page, with the physical text as medium. And in the afternoon, you will get the chance to explore various ways of using printmaking as a writing technique. All materials will be provided, as well as access to an Adana press and an introduction to letterpress.
