Course Description

What is beauty? Through the ages, different societies have prized different figure shapes and physical attributes as markers of human beauty. From ancient times, people have followed fashion, creating cosmetics and adopting new styles to change their appearance in efforts to achieve perfection. This course will offer an introduction to the changing ideals of beauty, considering why certain traits were prized and exploring some of the lengths that individuals have gone to in pursuit of beauty.
