Course Description

Many of the ideas found in ancient philosophy have had a deep impact on our world. From ancient notions of democracy, to the role that logical analysis plays in our reasoning, these ideas have made a lasting impact on our ways of thinking. This module introduces students to the central ideas in ancient philosophy through analysis of the writings of Plato and Aristotle. This module will focus on material drawn from Plato’s Republic and Aristotle’s writings on ethics and metaphysics.
