Course Description

This course will take a tour through the main works of classical literature including the epics of Homer and Virgil, the tragic and comic plays of Greece, and the poetry of Sappho, Ovid and Catullus. Each week we will consider a new genre of literature and look at not just the major works written for publication but also the letters, inscriptions and graffiti that remain to give us a hint of what the ancients thought.
