This course will provide an understanding of the Low Voltage Directive, the Harmonised Standards that underpin it, types of hazards and the various design measures required to comply with these standards.

Course Description

The course looks at the practical implications of Directive 2006/95/EC. The workshop provides an overview of the requirements detailed in some of the common electrical safety standards, along with methods of meeting the appropriate requirements. 

The implications of the new provisions in Directive 2014/35/EU which will be enforced on 20th August 2016 in all member states will also be presented.
