Course Description

Confused by Brexit? By NHS decisions? By currency movements? This course will assist you in following media debates about these and other contemporary economic issues, and will help in forming your own judgments. Topics include how markets work and why they are often regulated; international trade agreements and exchange rates; money, banks and interest rates; taxation, the government budget and debt; growth, employment and inflation; and the NHS. We will make reference to current issues and examples throughout, as we try to understand the figures.
