Course Description

Most of us know at least some of the famous poems etched into the English psyche after the catastrophes of World War One, but what about those poets who fell foul of the anthology editors? This course will examine both well-known poems and those of lesser-known poets who encapsulated their versions of the conflict in verse, showing how The Great War exists for us today more through the poetic representations it produced than from the pages of history books.
